Putting Stuff in Jars
March 29, 2016
Kayla Sluka
My obsession with Mason Jars started long ago before their surge of popularity over the past decade. As a result, I have ended up with boxes of empty jars without any idea what to do with them. Over the years I have seen some very creative ways in which to use Mason Jars but using them as decor in my home is probably my favorite. There are so many colors and brands that I simply cannot get enough. Some people have asked me how I come up with such creative ways to display my vintage glass so I figured I would let you in on one of my biggest secrets: I put stuff in the jars. It is that simple. I am going to share with you a few examples here in hopes to spark a little inspiration in your own home. All you need is a jar and stuff. You don’t have to be Joanna Gaines to accomplish this simple decorating hack to add a little spice to your walls, shelves, or countertops.
Options for stuff
For the nature lover:
Driftwood, shells, nuts, pinecones, sea glass, bark, stones, yucca flowers, leaves, etc.
For the DIYer:
Clothespins, nails, eye screws, hangers, pins, sewing needles, thumb tacks, etc.
For the sentimental ones:
Love notes, letters, Polaroid pictures, photos, notes, cards, concert & movie tickets, etc.
For the organizer:
Pens, pencils, highlighters, washi tape, scissors, Sharpies, glue sticks, dry erase markers, staples, paper clips, etc.
For the beautician:
Nail polish, nail files, cotton balls, Qtips, clippers, cosmetics, vitamins/meds/supplements, lip balm, etc.
Think about all those leftover craft supplies or junk drawer. These are just a few ideas. Not only do I organize a lot of those items that tend to get lost, but I am able to display some important sentimental items instead of storing them in a box.All of that junk just became a centerpiece decoration. There are so many possibilities, and just look at how cute they look when they are done! You don’t need to go out and spend a lot of money to find ways to make your home more homey. Stay tuned for more simple tips like this.
